In April 2025 I shared the harrowing testimony of an unnamed Palestinian woman who survived abduction, torture, and sexual violence at the hands of Israeli soldiers. Her story ended with a plea not just for justice, but for our active participation in dismantling the systems that allow such horrors to continue.<\/em><\/p>

Today, I amplify her voice\u2014and the voices of countless others\u2014through music.<\/em><\/p>

I am honored to share the release of a demo version of \u201cme too.\u201d <\/strong>This track was written specifically in response to the testimonies heard on delegations to Palestine, including the one shared in my blog post for the Palestine Justice Network of the Presbyterian Church (USA), <\/u>\u201cStory of an Unnamed Woman.\u201d<\/u><\/em><\/a><\/p>

Music has always been a vessel for truth when words alone are insufficient. \u201cme too\u201d does not offer easy comfort or polished resolution. Instead, it mirrors the raw reality of survival under occupation: the grief, the rage, the resilience, and the unyielding demand for dignity. It is a sonic embodiment of the solidarity we owe to those whose bodies have been weaponized against them.<\/p>

Why This Song Matters<\/strong><\/h3>

In \u201cStory of an Unnamed Woman,\u201d<\/u><\/em> I<\/u><\/a> write about how the occupiers sought to break the spirit of a young woman through systematic dehumanization\u2014from denying basic sanitary needs to physical brutality. Yet, she refused to let their violence colonize her mind. She remained silent during the beatings, but her silence was not submission; it was resistance.<\/p>

\u201cme too\u201d picks up where that silence ends. It is a chorus of recognition. When we sing or listen to this song, we are acknowledging that what happened to her is not an isolated incident, but part of a broader pattern of gendered violence inherent in settler-colonial regimes. I am saying: I see you. I hear you. Your pain is not invisible.<\/em><\/p>

A Call to Listen and Act<\/strong><\/h3>

Listening to \u201cMe Too\u201d is an act of witness. But as I wrote last year, witnessing is only the beginning. The call from Palestine remains urgent: Do and risk whatever is necessary, within your capacity, to bring an end to the ongoing Nakba.<\/strong><\/p>

This song is an invitation to move beyond passive sympathy into active solidarity. Let the melody stir your conscience. Let the lyrics challenge your complacency. And then, take action.<\/p>
